Rationale

Designate a pathway that is “paved” with bricks. Pedestrians traveling on wheels (i.e. wheelchairs or bicycles) may need to identify brick pathways for route planning. The unevenness in a brick pathway makes it difficult for pedestrian travel on wheels. Brick roads can also be difficult for automobile travel. This feature would allow people to avoid brick pathways in route planning as necessary.

Examples

Applies to

A brick_way would be a Way.

Rendering

This should be rendered similarly to the current stair feature, with a brick pattern instead of parallel lines. The underlying color of the way should be dark red or gray.

Comments

Is this not equivalent to using surface=cobblestone on any highway, be it footway, cycleway, residential or whatever? Alv 07:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
