Proposal

Rationale

Why should one tag a "Concept store" as such (or not) ?

The shop key is obvious : the shops

A few nodes are already tagged that way :

  • shop=concept_store : 7 cases
  • shop=conceptstore : 3 cases

In addition, a short query via overpass proves that approximately XX shops contain the chain "conceptstore" in their name, and thus could be eligible for this tagging. However, this is not automatic, as some so-called concept stores are restricted to one domain (e.g.: this bicycle conceptstore). As a counter-example, we have shops that could be tagged as concept stores, even if the string isn't in their official name (example).

Thus, I argue that there is a reasonnably important usage for this tag.

Orthography

Between the two existing alternatives, only "concept_store" seems to correspond to the standards and conventions for tagging, as underscore should be used as a separator[1].

Tagging

As any shop, this could be used for :

  • Nodes
  • Areas

Possible taggings include all the usual combinations for a shop-like place, but no one is absolutely required :

  • opening_hours=*
  • accessibility=*

Examples

Rendering

For the moment, no new rendering is proposed. The usual "purple dot" for shops could be used.

Features/Pages affected

In some extent, the "shop" page, as it adds a new value : Key:shop

In some extent, all the possible conceptstores that have been mapped with a variety of value could be retagged. Often used alternatives for conceptstores are :

  • Tag:shop=gift is more used for souvenir shops (=absolutely not expensive / researched objects)
  • Tag:shop=boutique is restricted to expensive clothing
  • Tag:shop=interior decoration is meant for general decoration, not specially expensive, nor from a designer.
  • Almost all the values of shop could, at some point, be used.
