Proposal
Some police forces have a clear specializations, like Highway Patrol or a canine brigade. This allows for more differentiation than the related Proposal:Key:police:branch, which focuses on just the organizational level of the police force. Some values could be railway, airport, border, traffic, canine, aerial, … More than one specialization may apply. They may have separate offices and logo’s and may be organizationally separates. This list should be readily extendible.

This tag allows to map readily visible detailed aspects of police forces which are relevant to finding the police force needed for the issue at hand.

I oppose this proposal. It fails to include any "meat": claims "proposal includes feedback from previous discussion" while nothing seems to be included, even "Tagging" section is totally empty. The point of proposal process is not getting "Approved" status as some kind of validating "trophy". See e.g. Proposal:Surface=laterite for an idea how to make a really good proposal and engage community; or simply use and document tags via ATYL instead. --mnalis (talk) 01:33, 13 August 2026 (UTC)- I oppose this proposal. The proposal only comes with a key, but no values; if the police specialities are relatively uniform around the world, the proposal should come with values at least for the most frequent specialities.
