Naming?

Maybe use kerb:track_guiding=* instead of kerb:approach_aid=*, but other than that it makes sense to include this attribute. Just make sure to clarify on the wiki page later on, that this sub-tag is only to be used on raised kerbs. --Nadjita (talk) 15:15, 12 April 2023 (UTC)

We decided on approach_aid because at least according to our research is is the most broad term that covers what we mean. We initially differentiated into lane_guidance (similar to your proposed track_guiding), recess and guidance_with_recess. approach_aid is simply the umbrella term that covers guidances and recesses. --Wielandb (talk) 11:19, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

How to distinguish

I must admit that I don't really see a difference between the example top picture (with kerb:approach_aid=no) and the examples with kerb:approach_aid=yes. They just look a little bit slanted regular kerbs. Are there any particular points to pay attention to to distinguish if something was done for vehicles to get close or just for design purposes? - Famlam (talk) 08:23, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

If you say it like that, yes! The main difference is the slanted shape. I don't think that a distinction if something was done with intention or not is neccessary. If it helps the bus to drive close, it's an approach aid. :) --Wielandb (talk) 13:41, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
