Room numbers

If the amenity is not a dozen-room motel but a proper hotel with hundreds of rooms and several units with different planning, they are likely to not all share the same room design solutions. A guest cannot reasonably check them all.

I believe this tag should allow to specify room numbers, with ranges similar to how Key:addr:flats are mapped. That's how a fully mapped hotel (e.g. by an employee) would look like:

bathroom:privacy:full=1-30;61-90
bathroom:privacy:frosted=31-60;91-120
bathroom:privacy:translucent=121-400;405-605
bathroom:privacy:none=401-404;606-616

If a person visits only the room 451, they can map this room

bathroom:privacy:translucent=451

Other people can add tags for 404, 405, etc. Shortening to ranges can happen automatically once enough data is collected. Carbon-Starlight (talk) 23:54, 27 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Interesting suggestion. Thanks! Something B (talk) 08:32, 28 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Actually, maybe adding the word "rooms" as in bathroom:privacy:full:rooms=1-30 would be more consistent with other tagging? At least leaves room for things like by-unit division. I have little experience in raw tagging conventions so its hard for me to judge. Carbon-Starlight (talk) 19:17, 30 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
