Proposal

This is a proposed tag for mapping the location of social clubs. A social club is place where members can meet and socialise, and usually includes bars, restaurants and games. They differ from a pub or bar in that they are primarily restricted to members only.

This includes working men's clubs, gentlemen's clubs, ex-servicemen's clubs (eg the British Legion) and clubs based around a specific activity or sport (eg football supporters' clubs).

See wikipedia:Social club.

How to map

Add a node in the centre, or draw a closed way around the club building, and tag it as leisure=social_club.

Additional tags

  • name=* - the name of the club
  • operator=* - the organisation running the club
  • addr=* - address details
