Route Companion is a mobile app for cyclists and runners. It imports a planned route (Strava, Ride with GPS, or a GPX, TCX or FIT file) or plans one in the app, then finds points of interest along it from OpenStreetMap: drinking water, shops, cafés, restaurants, toilets, bike shops and more.

For each stop it shows the distance ahead, the distance off the route, and whether the place will be open when you arrive, based on the opening_hours tag and your estimated pace. Stops without opening_hours are shown without an open or closed verdict.

Stops can be sent with the route to Garmin and Wahoo devices as course points. Riders can report wrong stop data in the app.

iOS and Android version available.
