We have prepared a Mapping party (and other activities) in Spain to "celebrate" the anniversary of the first OSM meeting in Spain. Any person (spanish or not) is welcome to join.

About Zaragoza

Zaragoza is the fifth city in population of Spain. It is situated just between Madrid and Barcelona, 300 kilometers away from both. It has Iberian, Roman, Muslim and Christian monuments such as the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, the Aljafería Palace and La Seo Cathedral. With a 60,000 students university, a lively nightlife is guaranteed.

The city is preparing itself for the upcoming International Expo 2008 (14th June to 14th September), an event which will attract thousands of visitors from the rest of Spain and Europe.

The current mapping status is 'just started to work on it'. Most of the main streets are lacking.

What you need

  • A GPS: recommended, but not essential. You probably know someone who can lend you one or help on the other tasks while the others are recording tracks (editing and uploading).
  • A camera: useful for mapping but also to have a nice souvenir
  • Predisposal for having fun: required

Viernes 22 de febrero

* 18:00       Charla: Introducción y primeros pasos en OpenSteetMap
              Lugar: Sede Hispalinux
              Principalmente dirigida a aquellas personas que no conocen el proyecto, en el que se introducirán los conceptos y las herramientas necesarias para participar en la Mapping Party del fin de semana.

Sábado 23 de febrero

*             Recepción de los asistentes

* 10:00       Coordinación del día
              Lugar: Sede de Hispalinux
              Se asignarán las zonas de acuerdo al número de personas asistentes.

<MAPPING ZARAGOZA-NORTE>

* 13:30       Comida
              Lugar: Restaurante cercano a Hispalinux (lugar aún por confirmar)

* 15:30       Cartografía
              Subida y edición de los datos recogidos por la mañana.
              Lugar: Sede de Hispalinux

* 19:00       Mesa redonda
              Se comentará los progresos, experiencias, problemas, etc. en los distintos lugares de España.
              Lugar: Sede de Hispalinux

* 21:00       Tapeo/Cena
              Lugar: Restaurante céntrico (lugar aún por confirmar)

*             "Geolocalización nocturna" de los bares de Zaragoza

Domingo 24 de febrero

* 10:00       Coordinación del día
              Lugar: Sala de reuniones del CMU Pedro Cerbuna (Campus San Francisco)
