A desert kite (Arabic: مصائد صحراوية) is usually found in the deserts of Middle East, but also North Africa, Central Asia and Arabia and believed to have been used to trap wild animals. They are typically kite shaped with an "antenna" and visible on satellite and aerial imagery. There are believed to be 6,000[1], but it is entirely possible that focused search on aerial imagery would find more[2].
