The tag content=hot_water is used with man_made=storage_tank to map an energy storage device that stores energy in the form of hot water in a large container.
The input can be the waste heat from a power plant, an industrial process, wind power, a solar thermal power plant with solar collectors and so on.
The stored energy can be used for heating or as hot water for houses.
Containers are typically large, mostly cylindrical and insulated.
Note that small storage tanks (for example in homes) are out of scope for this tag.
How to map
Set a node or draw as an area along the storage tank outline.
Add the tag man_made=storage_tank and content=hot_water.
Tags used in combination
- building=storage_tank - if it is a building (question which storage tanks qualify for building=* is controversial with differences in opinion between mappers)
- height=*
- operator=*
