The natural=naled tag is used to map areas of naled or aufeis (see Aufeis on Wikipedia) which occur in cold climate regions especially in valleys of braided rivers. These form during cold temperature when water on the surface freezes and forms a layered body of ice that may be seasonal or permanent depending on the conditions.

This is not to be confused with natural=glacier which is to be used for permanent surface ice forming from snow or subsurface permafrost structures that form through freezing and thawing of groundwater.
