Should this page be renamed to ref:WDPA and propose to use the new tag? In addition to propose to not use the old tag anymore. --T00mmy (talk) 03:55, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

WDPA ID on Wikidata

Since WDPA is available on Wikidata as property P809 : https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P809

I would recommend creating a wikidata entry, if missing, then adding the WDPA ID to the wikidata entry rather than adding in OSM. Adding Wikidata identifiers in OSM and OSM node/way/relations to Wikidata seems like a much better connection, using Wikidata as the dataverse hub rather than OSM given the power of the Wikibase to connect many apps, services as a machine-readable resource.
