baseball:centrefield and baseball:rightfield are mentioned, but not baseball:leftfield. I'm guessing that's just an oversight.

Also, why the non-American spelling of centre vs center. Considering this is an "American" (invented) sport, shouldn't it be centerfield?

The origins of baseball are far from "american" https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Origins_of_baseball . As for baseball:rightfield they are symetrical and should be the same, or else your "cone" shape will be lopsided http://m.mlb.com/glossary/rules/field-dimensions repeating the same information would just be data duplication James2432 (talk) 00:55, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

OK, maybe I should have used the term "popularized" instead of "invented" and I should have mentioned "modern" baseball. But I won't bother arguing that point. As for the field measurements, there is no rule that states the field be symmetrical. Just that they have minimum distances. (see http://m.mlb.com/glossary/rules/field-dimensions) One example of left and right fields not being the same distance is Yankee Stadium. The five measurements (left, left/center, center, right/center, and right) are all different. --B-jazz (talk) 01:17, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
