Talk:Numbered Route Index

WTF is this about? Learn to use OSMXAPI. The wiki is not an index to the data. --Richard 23:47, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

The page associated with this disscusion was intended to be an OSM equivlant to the Roaders Digest provided by the Society for All British Road Enthusiasts (SABRE) site (which is under an ambiguous licence).

The root level index page is what has been created so far, along with a few basic entries for some roads.

It would be sensible, echoing Richard's comments above to extend the way browser code already in operation to allow generation of 'linear' strip maps, and extraction of complete route information (such as Junction locations), or route highlighting.

Comments on what information should ideally be extracted or how the digest notes could be best presented would be welcomed..
