What does feeding:type=manger stand for?

See manger on wikipedia: A manger or trough is a feeder that is made of carved stone, wood, or metal construction and is used to hold food for animals (as in a stable). --Imagic (talk) 14:46, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

Usage

amenity=feeding_place + feeding:type=manger is used in maps for orienteering sport, see IOF-symbol "538 Fodder rack" in international specifications for orienteering maps (ISOM2000 International Specification for Orienteering Maps and ISSOM2007 International Specification for Sprint Orienteering Maps and ISMTBOM2010 International Specification for MTB Orienteering Maps) . More informations about IOF-symbols and their OSM-tags you will find on page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/IOF_mapping .
