This proposal replaces the first proposal Proposed features/drinkable. drinkable=* will be deprecated.

See discussion of first proposal discussion page

drinkable=* is in use. It cannot be deprecated. I don't see any reason for another tag with the same meaning. --Fkv (talk) 19:40, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
The goal is not another tag with the same meaning, but to unify two tags with the same content. --Rudolf (talk) 21:02, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
The goal is avoiding to manage two tags for the same thing. I guess that drinkable=* is used mainly on fountains or standalone features providing water, and drinkink_water=* is used on a lot of objects. So drinking_water can replace drinkable. --FrViPofm (talk) 20:49, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

Value official needed?

With a consistently use of drinking_water:legal= there is no need for the key drinking_water=official.

You can tag drinking_water=yes with drinking_water:legal=yes
