Measurement of roof:direction

The downslope of the drawn roof seems to face ENE direction, but 194.3° equal SSW.

Well spotted, the image is wrong. JOSM's angle measurement behaves differently depending on whether you already have a way selected or not:
  • When no way is selected, the angle is relative to north. (This is the intended behavior for determining roof:direction=* values.)
  • When a way is already selected, the angle is relative to that way. (This is what's actually shown in the screenshot.)
It also seems unnecessary to require the building plugin, you can just begin to draw a way using the built-in JOSM tools to get the angle. As the screenshot additionally uses the outdated roof:slope:direction key, I guess it needs to be replaced. --Tordanik 10:41, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
