Student projects

I am a PhD Student at University College London, and have previously done a MSc in GIS at their Geomatics Department. As part of that MSc, students need to complete a Summer Term Project (Thesis). Subjects for these projects are quite varied, and interested students could take on projects listed here. As they are graded on the projects, there is a strong incentive for the students to deliver good results as well. I have a working relationship with various staff involved in the MSc still, and would be happy to coordinate project ideas and see if there is any interest from this years students. The projects would run next summer. Please let me know if you think this is a good idea, obviously we need to coordinate this and make shure students get proper support both from the University and OSM if they want to take on a project.--Petz 15:11, 6 October 2007 (BST)

I think it's a good idea. I'm sure most people around here do. There's no need ask permission before attempting to liase with universities and set up this kind of thing. Please go ahead!

Merge project lists?

Google Summer of Code is similar wiki page. Maybe we should merge the two lists? There is also a page called Things To Do. Again this is basically the same. I guess that page should be not specifically aiming to list 'projects', but currently the distinction isn't clear. -- Harry Wood

Why keywords?

Any particular reason why this list features 'keywords' in bold? It just seems to clutter up the list a bit. -- Harry Wood 15:32, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

I removed them -Harry Wood 10:17, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
