After I noticed this edit, I looked at the proposal, but was not able to find the referenced information. In fact, the proposal does not mention element types for individual tags at all. Based on experiences with ways with implicit direction in general (cliffs, rivers, etc.), I also predict that when using a way, the direction would often be tagged incorrectly, with many mappers not even realizing the implicit meaning of their tagging at all. I therefore doubt the benefits of tagging (straight) billboards as ways. --Tordanik 10:40, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
