Add that one could add the rough along the hole and then set a inner relation to the fairway.

I would argue that you could use this with a relation, to put the rough around the path of the hole and then fill a inner relation of fairway. Add this that people could do it this way to save time? HuggeK (talk) 10:38, 8 November 2024 (UTC)

Use of rough tag on golf paths

Some mappers are including grass paths in the golf=rough area (e.g. Royal Birkdale). I think that this should not be done and documented on the page, because these paths are not a play area outside of which the ball would be out of bounds. A golf=path with surface=grass seems more appropriate. --Dsfarc (talk) 14:23, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
