Is there a image of (Austrian) StVO § 54 (5) n) https://www.ris.bka.gv.at/~/Dokumente/Bundesnormen/NOR40245684/image014.png which could be used? It would be better than the image currently used without "nach Halt".

via node may be part of "from"-way

There is a footnote "The "from" and "to" members must start/end at the Role via node or the Role via way(s), otherwise split it!".

There are some cases where this is not possible. On roads with two directions the highway=traffic_signals node also gets a direction=forward/backward. This forward/backward is only possible when the node is not part of a single way.

Quote from https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:traffic_signals:direction "This tag only applies for nodes that are part of a way"

I would delete the footnote or change it. I don't see a problem if the via node (highway=traffic signals) is part of the from-way which does not end at the via node. --Nielkrokodil (talk) 16:48, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
