Names

Native names are very scarce in OSM at the moment. OSM would be the perfect starting point for a project like the NODAPL protest map, except that there are currently zero features tagged name:lkt=*. Could someone go through Wikipedia's Native American language articles and come up with a table mapping common languages to their name:* tags? – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 22:02, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Boundary value consensus

It does appear that worldwide consensus is building for (boundary=protected_area + protect_class=24). aboriginal_lands seems to only be appearing in North America, and the former is starting to significantly outnumber it. It may be time to just say 'protected_area' is the tag to use. Skybunny (talk) 20:13, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

boundary=aboriginal_lands is now an approved tag as of December 2018, and is treated as a synonym for boundary=protected_area and protect_class=24. There hasn't been any discussion yet about deprecating one or the other. --Alan (talk) 00:04, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
