vending=bottle_return ?

I was tagging a Volta machine at a local Pingo Doce and found that "vending=bottle_return" was being used elsewhere for these kind of devices.

Volta machines do take plastic bottles and cans for recycling, but they "pay" you for this, which introduces the (reverse) vending idea.

How are we going to handle this so ideally we do not drift from the way other return machines are tagged? Ghowen (talk) 08:35, 8 July 2026 (UTC)

The concept of reverse_vending_machine exists, this is not limited to cans and bottles. I would consider bottle_return towards return of reusable bottles, here is not the case. Adaptive (talk) 16:43, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
