Template talk:Map Features:contact

Should we merge Template:Map Features:contact with Template:Map Features:Contact Information together to evoke "contact:xxx" widespread usage? I mean, to keep "contact:phone" (etc) scheme as primary in the Map Features and refer "phone" (etc) as an outdated and no-more-preferred variant in the description of individual tag values. This will initiate gradual transition from an old scheme to the newly adopted one for sure. Nonetheless, keeping two templates active together is obstructive and discouraging, I guess. --Va-deam (talk) 18:57, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

As far as I'm aware, there is no consensus on which scheme should be preferred, but there is a number of people that see the contact:* schema as bringing more problems than solutions. The prefix-less schema is not seen as outdated, since it's the one used in the main editors and has a considerably higher usage. --Jgpacker (talk) 19:11, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
