working title: the Unconscious Collective, because 'OPM' and 'OPGM' are less appealing than 'UC' and the openwhatevermap w:en:snowclone is overused anyway. refers to the w:en:collective unconscious (not that I advise taking that too seriously), and a possible role as a wiki or other collaborative format like OSM/OGF.

I had a dream during a power nap and after I woke up started imagining some features I'd want in this inspired by that dream but also dreaming in general, and even more widely w:en:psychogeography.

vector everything, so no conventional tiles. focus on line edges rather than fills, colouration like some of the sparser Stamen styles

three panes, not separated from each other by hard borders: text, with stable parts and unstable 'dreamt' strings surrounding; a 'street view' scene, this would be the main panel; and a minimap or two at different scales (not individually zoomable as the point is exploration rather than navigation).

linear controls at the bottom, following a preset (but expandable at either end) meandering path through the psychescape. Where the path crosses itself, landscape would be the same but 'view' (what landforms are emphasized, etc) would differ. see also Dream Journal's approach.

in OGF and OSM, there are no people (except on the input aerials and SLI for OSM, and they are either faces-blurred or stitched out, like that photo of an apparently but deceptively empty London subway made from the surveillance camera footage) -- but in my dreams there are, so they are a part of the psychescape, a layer in fact. Their presence is transitory and affects the text modulations.
