I attended the inaugural State of the Map conference and am now hooked on surveying Epsom & Ewell, Surrey, England.

My interest is in using OpenStreetMap to provide routing planning software. I designed the road routing software for Transport Direct[1] which uses historic road speeds to provide a 'truer' journey time than traditional road journey planners. I was also responsible for the distributed public transport journey planner which co-ordinates 10 pre-existing journey planners.

I am currently working on a national cycle planner and searching for a network of cycle paths and tracks, hence my interest in OpenStreetMap.

I celebrated my 40th Birthday in 2007 with a holiday to Peru and collected some GPS tracks of the train ride from Cusco to Machu Picchu and a bus route from Cusco through the Sacred Valley.
