Gmail allows you to create 1 email address and then add text to the end of your gmail user name using the plus (+) sign. This allows you to create multiple different email addresses you can use to register in OpenStreetMap and all the emails for eacy account will go to the one main gmail address.

for example:

DTWSchoolMapper@gmail.com

You can then pre-register all of these email addresses:

DTWSchoolMapper+02gmail.com
DTWSchoolMapper+03@gmail.com
DTWSchoolMapper+04@gmail.com
DTWSchoolMapper+05@gmail.com
DTWSchoolMapper+06@gmail.com

etc

The plus (+) must be between the main gmail email address and the sequence number.

All emails to any of those addresses individual addresses will go to the main DTWSchoolMapper@gmail.com email address. This allows you to verify them all and monitor any feedback they get from the OSM community as well.

I suggest using the same password for all the OSM accounts, it is just easier that way.

You will then need to also log them into the Tasking Manager once as well.

On mapathon day, we usually log everyone into osm and the tasking manager on each machine if it is a computer lab sort of set up, or you can pass out pices of paper as the folks come in with the email address they should use on their own machines if they brining their own laptops.

DTWSchoolMapper+_________@gmail.com Password: somepassword

on the papers and then just hand write in their number or whatever way you want to indicate what email address they should use.
