About me

My name is Lars Francke and I've been a member of OSM since 2008, been active mapping the small city of Uetersen near Hamburg, Germany. I plan to get back to active mapping this summer to finish it. Apart from mapping I've contributed in other small ways to the OSM community: I developed OSMdoc an alternative to Tagwath and tagstat. It is still under active development. I've also developed the tool that is used to export the entire history of OSM data. Last but not least: I've recently finished a similar tool to make all GPX traces available. This data is not yet available but I hope it will be soon.

I'm active on the german and international mailing lists and can be regularly found on IRC, I also try to blog about OSMdoc development once in a while.

While not yet working in the OSMF I try to promote OSM at every opportunity I get and I recently begun to look for sponsors and donors mostly of servers and other resources needed for a few ambitious projects dealing with the huge amount of data the community generates on a regular basis. And I'd like to continue and professionalize this work in the future and I think that a place in the OSMF board can help me achieve this goal.
