Lightning protection

lightning_protection yes / no

Can be applied to buildings like shelters where it is not a-priori clear that the facility has lightning protection and is therefore a safe place to go if a thunderstorm is looming. See https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1419352248 as a usage example.

Semantic OSM tags

Here are some notes, that I am taking while I am trying to figure things out:

I could not find these suffixes in the DataItems:

:forward
:backward
:left
:right
:both
(:both_ways is present. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Item:Q22163 )

Is there a reason for this, or do I just need to add them? Also there does not seem to exist a property which links keys to their suffixes and prefixes, in contrast to tags which can link to their keys although that could also be inferred from the string.

Self service vending shelves / boxes / fridges

A concrete tagging still needs to be proposed. It should probably be a value for the `shop` key. Currently, values of `shop` can not express that something is not a "proper" shop but just a little box.

See discussions here:

Some people even resort to using `amenity=vending_machine`, e.g., https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/8678636504

Positional height

Currently there is no tag which expresses the height above ground for a feature. A workaround is to specify `height` and `min_height`.

The information could be useful for tree-mounted birdhouses, if a person who wants to service it wants to know which kind of ladder to bring to the job. Now if I want to express that the positional height is z, I need to set `min_height=z-birdhouse_height/2 + height=z+birdhouse_height/2`
