Rajshahi, unquestionably one of Bangladesh’s most distinctive destinations, is celebrated for its rich silk heritage, prestigious educational institutions, and verdant agricultural landscapes. It not only serves as a venue but also offers an immersive experience that enriches the ambience and allure of events like State of the Map Asia 2025. The captivating vistas along the Padma River and the rugged charm of the Barid Tract provide an optimal setting for fostering connections and creating lasting memories. The unique geographical features of Rajshahi, including its flood-prone river systems and diverse agricultural lands, make it an excellent subject for discussions on geospatial analysis and mapping. This relevance enhances the conference’s content by offering concrete illustrations of how geospatial technology can be applied in flood risk mapping, agricultural optimization, and urban heat island mitigation.

Furthermore, the State of the Map Asia 2025 should be hosted by the Youthmappers Chapter of the University of Rajshahi, a dynamic group at the forefront of geospatial innovation. With a dedicated chapter experienced in organizing mapathons, mapping workshops, and humanitarian projects, they bring a community-driven approach to open mapping. Strong partnerships with local government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations will ensure robust participation and impactful discussions. Equipped with top-tier facilities such as the University’s Senate House and an inclusive academic environment, the Youthmappers Chapter is poised to deliver a transformative and engaging event that advances open mapping and geospatial technology.

By hosting the event here, we can leverage Rajshahi’s unique blend of cultural richness, scientific inquiry, and strategic geographic positioning to foster international collaboration and drive innovative solutions. Overall, Rajshahi not only provides a culturally rich and scenic backdrop for State of the Map Asia 2025 but also aligns seamlessly with the event’s thematic focus on environmental sustainability and spatial innovation.
