I'm Christoph Eckert and living in Karlsruhe, Germany. You can contact me using <geeemmixx add gmx dodd net>.

I did start to map Karlsruhe (it was whitespace before) late in the summer of 2006 and have contributed huge amounts of data.

Back in 2006, I thought that attribution and share-alike was an important part for my contributions. Meanwhile, I think different. CC-by-SA as well as the ODbL make it very difficult to create mashups and other derived works from our data. Additionally, we cannot "steal" data from other free projects if they also use restrictive licenses which are incompatible to ours.

I'm therefore all for a public domain license. I know this will never happen for the complete project, but I hope that there are enough users who feel the very same and use {{PD-user}} just like me.

Public domain
All my contributions to OpenStreetMap are released into the public domain. This applies worldwide.
In case this is not legally possible, I grant anyone the right to use my contributions for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law.
