Hi IpswichMapper ... I assume you are identical with this github user? https://github.com/IpswichMapper

If yes: Do you know the "new" dicussions feature for each github repository?

see: https://docs.github.com/en/github/administering-a-repository/enabling-or-disabling-github-discussions-for-a-repository

What about enabling this feature on the repo of SwiftAddress? --Stephan75 (talk) 17:31, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

Hello Stephan, I could do this. However, I don't see what advantage this would give. From what is said on the Github Docs, the discussions features exists to "ask questions, gather feedback, plan and make decisions". Now I can definately see why a dedicated page to make decisions and make plans would be useful for a larger project, however SwiftAddress is not that large of a project anyway, so I feel like these advanced features are not that necessary. For example, I don't even use multiple branches - all changes I make are made to the main branch. Obviously this only becomes possible when an app isn't complicated at all.
Currently, I think Github issues should be fine to discussion enhancements and features. Feel free to explain why Github discussions would be useful if you disagree with me, however. IpswichMapper (talk) 20:02, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
