The network:wikidata=* tag is a machine-readable form of network=*. It contains the ID of the Wikidata item for the feature's network. In OpenStreetMap, this key is mostly used for public transport routes and areas, because network=* contains freeform text. In OpenHistoricalMap, this key is additionally applied to route=road relations for the same reason.
How to map
Add a network:wikidata=* tag to a feature that has the property network=*.
Its value should be a Wikidata item identifier, including the "Q" prefix.

KDE Itinerary looks up the value in Wikidata to assign an appropriate color and logo to the route leg. [1]
