Polders are land areas that form artificial hydrological entities, enclosed by specific man_made=embankment called man_made=dyke.
Most polders are in the Netherlands and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Basin. In the Netherlands, polders usually are under sea level, with canals and pumping stations to drain water. Historically, pumping stations were windwills. Most modern pumping stations have electric pumps.
This tag is the result of a talk https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/taggen-van-polders/9309 that concludes that this is the best way to define polders in OSM.
