Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is an industry body creating open standards for geospatial and location based services. Its web page is at www.opengeospatial.org.

Standards

Among its standards are the

  • Web Map Service (WMS)
  • Web Feature Service (WFS)
  • Geography Markup Language (GML)
  • KML

OGC and OpenStreetMap

There are many options and possibilities for converting OpenStreetMap data to and from OGC standard formats. The core OpenStreetMap API itself does not work directly with any of them.
