Camperada is a free route planner for motorhomes and campervans, available as a web app and as an app for Android and iOS. It is built by a single developer in Germany; the interface is in German and English. No account is needed.

How it uses OpenStreetMap data

• Routing with the vehicle's height, width, length and weight: in Europe on a self-hosted GraphHopper instance, elsewhere via OpenRouteService.
• Restriction check: the finished route is checked in a 50 m corridor against maxheight=*, maxheight:physical=*, maxwidth=*, maxwidth:physical=*, maxweight=* and maxlength=*. Hits are shown as possible restrictions, because the data are not complete.
• Overnight stops: about 208,000 places worldwide from tourism=camp_site, tourism=caravan_site and amenity=sanitary_dump_station, refreshed monthly. When a day's drive gets too long, the planner places a night on the way and looks for places nearby.
• Sights along the route from OSM objects with a wikidata=* link.
• Toll estimate from toll=yes roads in France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Portugal and Spain; ferries on the route from OSM; low emission zones from boundary=low_emission_zone (France from the official register).

Routes can be exported as GPX for a sat nav. Camperada does not offer turn-by-turn navigation.

Map data

If Camperada reports a restriction that does not exist on the ground, or misses one, the fix belongs in OpenStreetMap. Feedback to the developer is welcome through the feedback form in the planner.
