This category shows all Key:* and Tag:* pages in default namespace where the image in the sidebar does not match the one in the data item.

This means only the English language pages are listed.

This is a subcategory of Category:Mismatched image that shows pages from all language namespaces, including default.

Notice

If the image looks the same in the article as it does in the data item, check:

  • whether there is a "File:" prefix in the data item and if so, remove it,
  • whether the rank is set to "Preferred",
  • whether any of the links are not redirects,
  • whether there is more than one image in the data item – there should be only one with preferred rank, images with normal rank need to have a qualifier limited to language (P26), images with deprecated rank have no impact
  • whether the file link at the beginning or end of the it does not contain non-printable characters that are not visible on the screen, this can be checked e.g. on https://www.babelstone.co.uk/Unicode/whatisit.html
  • whether spaces are not mixed with underscores (example)
  • even things like "file:" instead of "File:" may cause discrepancies (example)
Currently it does not matter whether there are spaces ( ) or underscores (_) in the link and whether the file link starts with "File:" or "Image:". These things do not affect the correctness of the matching.

This maintenance category may be occasionally empty. The empty category should not be deleted however, because it is needed for maintenance.
