FlockDetour is a website and mobile app that maps known Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs) and plans routes that pass fewer of them. It shows the fastest route next to a balanced route and a fewer-cameras route, with the added minutes and miles and the number of known ALPRs on each.
The camera data comes mostly from OpenStreetMap features tagged man_made=surveillance with surveillance:type=ALPR. The project also publishes a taginfo project file.
The website route planner is free and needs no account. The iOS app (with Apple CarPlay) and Android app add turn-by-turn directions; the camera map is free there and navigation and the detour modes are a paid upgrade (freemium). FlockDetour is closed source and is not affiliated with Flock Safety.
