      • Attendance is low in the summer, but we’ll have one more

      • Maggie moderating a panel on sexism - Looking for another panelist

      • Courtney Clark (youth mappers/ geographic society) - working with her on paid internships

      • Draft complete - the group has a few days left for reviewing

      • Group has shrunk in numbers, but process has been appreciated.

    • Fall event - might be best to cancel this and focus on spring SOTMUS
      • We’re in touch with U of AZ for hosting. In person restrictions will likely go away.

      • Easier for company to donate yearly - ease of negotiating

New Business

  • OSMF
    • Moving out of the UK - financial complications are on the > horizon
    • Would be good to stay aware of the fundraising committee
    • EU - database rights and companies can donate there as well
  • Budget
    • We have enough $ for the year
    • SOTMUS will be useful, need to start focusing fundraising
    • MapLibre involvement has brought a lot of small companies forward for potential donors

Open Discussion

  • New volunteers are coming forward
    • Some frontend developing
    • Person from Microsoft - potentially pursuing good press
  • Organizational Goals document
    • Generally outlined foci so project leaders can see where they fit in
      • e.g. “Building partnerships”
    • Also outlining technical framework - makes it easier to connect dots
    • Example project: new renderer
      • Vector tiles - technically different
      • Not vendor specific
      • Cartographically more attune to old paper maps
  • Separate ballot for changing the bylaws? - to be discussed next meeting
