New Business
- Bylaws
- Issue, we can’t pass proposed bylaws because we don’t get enough votes
- Goal is to have more continuity on the Board with overlap
- Thought is to extend service through policy to two years
- Possibly introduce term limits
- Bylaws are the basis for legal protection, but we develop policy on the wiki. Check with other Executive Directors to see if they’ve addressed term limits outside of bylaws.
- Running for the Board
- Yearly election coming up soon - unaware of people interested in running
- ID Maintainer
- Martin Rifer has accepted the position - announced at the OSMF Board meeting.
Open Discussion
- Is approaching students at universities to see if they want to do an OSM capstone project okay?
- Interesting idea - look to the service learning model - should be okay
- Need to keep in mind we don’t have a lot of capacity for extensive mentoring
- Funding
- OSMUS is a non-profit
- Corporate donations need some guidance. We need to develop tiers, etc., so we have a structure for when companies want to contribute monetarily.
Next Meeting
- Look for a date in last week of October
Adjournment
