    • These would be new, so need categories
    • Global conference has voting (subjective) - a lot of work
    • We’d need objective categories or use a Google form for voting
    • Combine honor awards with scavenger hunt awards?
    • See what the organizing committee would like to do

Updates

  • Elections
    • 184 ballots sent out 2/2/22
    • Voting ends next Wednesday midnight PT
    • Announce winners on Feb. 10th at members meeting
  • SOTMUS sponsorship
    • Doing well! Close to budget goal
    • $20,000 from Craigslist
    • Have reached 50% of our yearly target already
    • But payments aren’t all in, these are promises
    • Sponsorship takes a LOT of time (eg MS procurement difficulties)
    • AZ tech council contact & mayor’s office - link to more sponsors
  • Open data NY event
    • Maggie on a panel
    • Mapping all bike racks in NYC
    • High value event with good press for OSM
    • Mapping for impact - Happening in Brooklyn so good time to > contact them
  • February mapping theme: rural america
    • Need speaker for Mappy Hour
    • We’ll be posting themes earlier
    • Tying in with TeachOSM map-a-longs - restructuring by the themes
    • Red Cross work gives nice structure for planning ahead for these > things
  • Gov
    • Oak ridge national lab presentation on buildings project with AI
    • Built environment partnership with FEMA - she’ll do a Mappy Hour > in March
    • Feb - will hear from NGA
  • Trails Working Group
    • Going along well
    • Diane has conflicts with the next two meetings
  • OSMF fundraising committee
    • invited Maggie - she’ll attend
