Garmin eTrex 10 is a handheld GPS device. It has monochrome display, supports loadable maps and runs on 2 AA batteries. eTrex 10 supports both GPS and GLONASS. It has 8MB built-in storage and does not accept external storage of any kind.

Pros & Cons

Contrary to the vendor's claim, you can (and you should) upload OSM data to eTrex 10. The problem is, the device has no Flash card slot and only 8 Mb internal storage which you have to juggle between the map data and your waypoints.

eTrex10.ru gives this passage in its review:

Just look: CPU calculate displaying a map of a small size rather fast, without "freezes", as often happens with the higher models. Moreover, it should be noted also that monochrome display is much sharper on sunlight than a full-color one. From these (and some else) factors is following a very important feature: battery life of Garmin eTrex 10 is much longer than even the manufacturer declares: as I have tested, this term is more than 33 hours! So, you can be sure: a single battery set will enough for a few days hike.
