In Colombia, cultural and natural heritage is known as Cultural Interest Goods (Bienes de Interés Cultural - BIC). BIC are material assets that the competent authorities have declared as monuments, areas of historical, archaeological, or architectural conservation, historical complexes, or through other designations prior to Law 1185 of 2008. BIC can belong to national, departmental, district, municipal, indigenous territories, or black communities. The inventory of BIC can be consulted in the Inventories of Cultural Heritage Properties (Inventarios Patrimonio Cultural Inmueble) of the Heritage and Memory Information System (Sistema de Información de Patrimonio y Memoria - SIPA).
Since BIC have different scopes and, therefore, different operators, it has been decided to simplify the tagging process by setting the value for heritage:operator=snpcn, snpcn is the Spanish acronym for the National Cultural Heritage System (Sistema Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación), which is composed of the set of public bodies at the national and territorial levels that exercise competencies over the nation's cultural heritage.

The PDF obtained by "Descargar Ficha de Inventario" in the "Inventarios de Patrimonio Cultural Inmueble" contains more information that allows the BIC to be tagged in greater detail, for example, by using the protection_title=* key.
