- Preparations: check GPS traces for paths leading to entrances or on balcony, orthophotographical imagery for windows, elevators, separating firewalls, corridors, mechanicals along with available ground level and indoor imagery. And finally the websites of the mall and the individual shops for hints to double check. Prepare with all fixme & notes and assemble a page about all tags you agree to gather with the team. Then on the ground: extensive photography from multiple angles, finding the fire escape plan, wifi, measuring tape, laser distance measurement tool. You can take note in a spiral notebook on paper, OsmAnd local changes, JOSM on a netbook held in your hands (or perhaps real time editing via Vespucci) and an audio recorder. Finally, remember to not take identifiable photographs of people or personal identifiers such as license plates within most countries without their explicit consent (even if implied, such as by deliberate posing for the camera) [2]
