Description
It indicates which imagery (e.g. which aerial imagery) was being displayed in the editor while the user made the changes.

Tags such as imagery_used=Bing are set automatically by the iD editor, Vespucci, and Go Map!! on changesets. It indicates which imagery (e.g. which aerial imagery) was being displayed in the editor while the user made the changes. It doesn't necessarily mean the imagery was actually used as a source, though it is pretty similar to Key:source.

Note that some editors like JOSM are not setting it.

Using this key is on any elements (node, way, relation) in the main OSM database is discouraged, because the imagery used to map an object is not connected to this object on the map, but to the tools used to map. It should be only used on changesets. See section above.
