The tag ramsar=yes has been used to specify that an area is protected by the Ramsar agreement
Ramsar sites are wetland wildlife conservation areas nominated by states parties to the File:Tango style Wikipedia Icon no shadow.svgconvention signed at Ramsar, Iran in 1971.
While these are sometimes been mapped with * natural=wetland and ramsar=yes, it is more common to map protected areas with boundary=protected_area or leisure=nature_reserve. The tag natural=wetland should only be used on the physical areas of wetland, not limited to the boundaries of the protected wetland area: the physical wetland may be larger or smaller.
