When tagging a country, ISO3166-1:numeric=* indicates the ISO 3166-1 numeric country code of that country. This code consists of three digits and is used in many software systems. You can use the ISO Online Browsing Platform to lookup these codes.
This tag can be added to:
- a node representation of the country (usually tagged as
place=country); - a boundary relation of the country (usually tagged as
boundary=administrativeandadmin_level=2).
This key can be combined with ISO3166-1:alpha2=* and ISO3166-1:alpha3=*, which are two-letter and three-letter codes assigned by the same agency. See Country code#ISO 3166-1 for more information about ISO 3166.
