Confession is the means by which people of some denominations believe that they can obtain God's forgiveness for their sins. This can take place anywhere, but usually takes place in a small booth, such as pictured here. An example would be the Catholic Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. These are times set aside when Catholic Priests make themselves available for the faithful to confess their sins and receive God's forgiveness. Priests have the option, through the power of the Apostolic Ministry, which Jesus conferred on His apostles, which is described in the Holy Bible Book of John 20:21-23, to either forgive sins or hold them retained.

"He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained."

The key confession_times=* is similar to the key service_times=*, but more specific and more recognized by some denominations

Example

For example in a Catholic Church (amenity=place_of_worship) there can be specific times for confessions to begin and they will continue until all are heard, as well as a time span, when they will only be heard during that time span. For example a Church which offers confessions on Tuesday from 4 PM until 5 PM, and on Saturday from 3 PM until all are heard would be represented as Tu 16:00-17:00; Sa 15:00

Tagging Syntax

The syntax for the value largely follows Key:opening_hours, except points in time are acceptable in addition to the time ranges used for opening_hours. Also a short comment (wrapped in " but not containing any " within) showing any applicable temporary changes such as cancellation due to inclement weather, can be added. Please see there for examples.
