This tag is used occasionally to indicate the number (quantity) of playing fields when groups of tennis, basketball, etc. courts are mapped as one closed way.
Using this tag is discouraged, especially for outdoor courts, since the courts can easily be mapped individually (see leisure=pitch). However, it may be used for indoor sports centers where armchair mapping is impossible.
