A building that is currently not in use, but could be reinstated easily. Therefore it has not fallen into serious disrepair yet.
Like with all Lifecycle prefixs using disused:building requires special support from editors and data consumers, which might lead to buildings not showing up in different projects/maps. The alternative tagging building=* + disused=yes is more likely to get shown.
According to taginfo both schemes are about equally in use :
